A Hall of Fame Career: Tim Moore Honored by Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame
The accomplishments of Tim Moore have long been recognized throughout collegiate basketball, but now his legacy has earned one of Beaver County's highest honors. The Penn State Beaver Women's Basketball Head Coach was officially inducted into the Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame as part of the organization's 2026 class.
Monaca, PA - Penn State Beaver Women's Basketball Head Coach Tim Moore has added another prestigious honor to his decorated career, as he was inducted into the Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame as part of the organization's Class of 2026 during ceremonies held June 13 at The Club at Shadow Lakes in Aliquippa. Moore was one of 10 distinguished individuals selected for induction, joining a class that included accomplished athletes, coaches, and contributors from across Beaver County.
For Moore, a Freedom Area High School graduate and one of the most successful coaches in Penn State Beaver history, the recognition serves as a testament to years of dedication to student-athletes both on and off the court. The Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame honors individuals who have made significant contributions to athletics while exemplifying integrity, sportsmanship, and character throughout their careers.
Since taking over the Penn State Beaver Women's Basketball program, Moore has transformed the Lady Lions into one of the premier programs in the Penn State University Athletic Conference and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. Under his leadership, Penn State Beaver has captured eight PSUAC championships and two USCAA Division II National Championships. Moore has also been named USCAA Division II National Coach of the Year three times, further cementing his place among the region's elite coaches.
While the championships and accolades tell part of the story, Moore's impact extends far beyond the wins and losses. For more than a decade, he has helped shape the lives of countless student-athletes, emphasizing academic success, leadership, and personal growth alongside athletic achievement. His teams have consistently represented Penn State Beaver with pride, helping elevate the campus' athletic profile throughout the state and across the nation.
Moore has often credited the success of the program to the student-athletes, assistant coaches, and support staff who have helped build a culture of excellence within Beaver Athletics. Upon learning of his induction, Moore reflected on the honor of joining a group of Beaver County legends he admired growing up, calling the recognition both humbling and emotional. He also expressed gratitude to Penn State Beaver and Athletic Director Andy Kirschner for giving him the opportunity to lead the program and build a lasting legacy on campus.
"Coach Moore is more than deserving of this amazing honor," Kirschner said when Moore's induction was announced. "Not only has his program won, but he has also worked hard to prepare these young ladies for their professional careers."
The Hall of Fame induction marks another milestone in a remarkable coaching career, but those closest to the program know Moore's greatest accomplishment may be the positive impact he continues to make on the lives of his student-athletes. His leadership has helped establish Penn State Beaver Women's Basketball as a perennial contender while fostering a family atmosphere that has become a hallmark of the program.
In addition to celebrating Moore's induction, Penn State Beaver was also represented during the annual scholar-athlete recognition program that honors outstanding student-athletes from local colleges and universities. Men's Basketball student-athlete Brandon Rue was selected as Penn State Beaver's honoree, recognizing his achievements in the classroom, athletic excellence, leadership, and service to the campus community.
Together, Moore's Hall of Fame induction and Rue's scholar-athlete recognition showcased the continued success of Penn State Beaver Athletics and the tradition of excellence being built both on the court and in the classroom.
