Uniontown, PA - Game 1: Penn State Beaver delivered a commanding performance on Sunday evening, securing an 11–1 road victory over Penn State Fayette. Beaver established dominance early, utilizing a two-run first inning to set a pace that Fayette could not match. After adding a run in the fourth, Beaver effectively put the game out of reach in the fifth with a towering three-run home run, followed by a relentless five-run surge across the final two frames. The Beaver offense was firing on all cylinders, tallying 13 hits and drawing six walks. The top of the order, led by Mason Hsu and Ben Ogle, provided consistent pressure, while the middle of the lineup capitalized on every scoring opportunity. Philip Betz had three RBIs, highlighted by a two-run single in the sixth and an RBI base hit in the seventh. Rheece Barone provided a three-run home run in the fifth inning. On the mound, Justin Perera earned the win with a gritty complete-game effort. Perera allowed only one unearned run, navigating through traffic with composure to stifle the Fayette offense and finalize the dominant road win.
Game 2: In a contest defined by early momentum shifts, Penn State Beaver fell to Penn State Fayette on Tuesday night despite an aggressive start. Beaver took an immediate 2–0 lead in the first inning following a Fayette error and a sacrifice fly by Nathan Doutt. However, the hosts responded quickly, erasing the deficit by the second inning and eventually pulling away during a decisive mid-game surge in the fifth and sixth frame. Ben Ogle continued his hot streak with a 3-for-4 performance, including an RBI double in the third inning. Chris Cann: Provided a spark at the plate, collecting two hits and scoring twice. Nathan Doutt contributed an RBI via a first-inning sacrifice fly. Nick Hayes took the loss after a four-inning stint, struggling to contain a Fayette lineup that found its rhythm in the later stages. Fayette's Brogan Meighen earned the win, pitching a complete seven innings and allowing only two earned runs.
While the dominant 11–1 victory showcased the team's high-octane offensive ceiling and pitching depth, the narrow loss in Game 2 highlighted the competitive nature of conference play. The team will take the field on Tuesday, April 14th at 12pm when they travel to take on Penn State Shenango. For all things Penn State Beaver Baseball check out beaverathletics.com!
