Penn State Beaver couldn’t protect a late lead Tuesday, falling 7–3 to Penn State Shenango after a decisive sixth inning.
Penn State Beaver stayed within striking distance early and showed resilience throughout, but a tough sixth inning proved costly in a 7–3 loss to Penn State Shenango on Tuesday afternoon at Pemberton Park. The result drops Beaver to 4–19 overall and 2–7 in conference play. Beaver's pitching and defense kept the game manageable through the first five innings.
After allowing a run in the first, Beaver settled in and held Shenango scoreless over the next three frames, giving the offense time to find an opportunity.That moment came in the top of the sixth, when Beaver finally broke through. While the outcome didn't go their way, Beaver showed signs of life with its sixth-inning rally and ability to stay competitive deep into the game. The focus now turns to building on that momentum and putting together a complete performance in the next matchup.
