Monaca, PA- In a closely contested game , Beaver secured a 62-52 victory over Pitt-Greensburg at the Beaver Field House. The game was marked by strong defensive performances and strategic plays, ultimately allowing Penn State Beaver to improve their record to 4-1, while Pitt-Greensburg fell to 0-3.
The match began with Pitt-Greensburg taking an early lead, finishing the first quarter ahead 13-10. However, Penn State Beaver responded robustly in the second quarter, outscoring their opponents 19-12, and went into halftime with a 29-25 advantage.
Pitt-Greensburg showed resilience in the third quarter, scoring 21 points to Penn State Beaver's 14, reclaiming the lead. Yet, the final quarter saw Penn State Beaver dominate with a 19-6 run, sealing their victory.
Key performances for Penn State Beaver included Bailey Rieg, who led the team with 18 points, shooting 5-13 from the field and a perfect 6-6 from the free-throw line. Katie Enderle also contributed significantly with 14 points, maintaining an impressive 5-6 shooting accuracy. Cashimere Ralph was a force on the boards, securing 12 rebounds.
