Shenango, PA - Penn State Beaver (17-4, 10-2) continued its strong season with an 89–51 road win over Penn State Shenango on Feb. 3. They started by setting the tone early and never letting the game drift into the other team's hands. Beaver opened the night with a 22–8 first quarter, using pressure and activity to create extra chances and build a quick cushion. The second quarter was more competitive, but Beaver still controlled the flow and carried a 36–20 lead into halftime, having already established a clear edge in pace and physicality. Coming out of the break, Beaver delivered its most decisive stretch. A 27–21 third quarter kept the offense rolling while answering Shenango's best push, and then the visitors slammed the door in the fourth with a 26–10 finish to turn a comfortable lead into a runaway.
Ny'Ashia Barnes powered the scoring attack with 22 points off the bench, while Bailey Rieg added 17 and Katie Enderle chipped in 11 along with a team-high 6 steals. Beaver's defense was disruptive throughout, piling up 22 steals and forcing 40 turnovers, and also lived at the free-throw line, converting 24 foul shots to keep the scoreboard moving even when the half-court offense stalled.
The result was a complete, stellar performance that reflected Beaver's current form: fast, aggressive, and deep, with multiple players able to swing momentum on both ends. The early burst created separation, the third-quarter response prevented any comeback hopes, and the fourth-quarter surge underscored Beaver's ability to finish. With another convincing conference win in hand, Beaver leaves Shenango with momentum intact and a blueprint that continues to travel—defend, force mistakes, and turn pressure into points.
